Okay, so here we go with another digital audio recorder review, and this time we’re going to take a look at the M-Audio MicroTrack II. At the time of writing this review, it got an average score of 3.5 out of 5 stars from customers.
The main good things about this audio recorder are: It’s a very handy size, so it’s great for carrying with you and recording pretty much anything. Also, it’s extremely versatile, and also works well with professional microphones.
The only real problem with this audio recorder is that it doesn’t feel like it’s really built to last. This is not a problem if you look after your stuff, but if you’re in a bit of a crazy band environment where things just randomly get left lying around, then I’m not quite sure how long this unit will last.

2. Is easy to use in a performance (or practice) situation.
3. Is reliable enough for recording can’t-be-repeated performances and workshops.
4. Has low enough hiss…

Disappointing

Researched this product thoroughly before buying, very enthusiastic about its touted capabilities. In theory this unit sounded great. On opening the box it has proven to be a total disappointment and waste of time; I’m writing this review to alert others. The first surprise was poor build quality out of the box; plastic feels cheap, like a $30 unit, not $499 list. This…
